ok there is a posability i may buy a 240...its a 92 with 68k miles but its auto....and id do a swap.....is it extreamly difficult to swap trannys with a sr20...and what kinda price am i looking at?

Why not convert to a manual tranny while everything is ripped out for the swap? I don't know too much about 240s but it shouldn't be too hard to get the stuff you need from a junkyard to make it manual..
For a $1500 240 with only 68k chassis miles, spend a few extra $$ and convert it..

 

im thinknig about goin ahead and doin it now...i was gonna wait till i had enuf for the whole motor but that will be like a year or so so i may go ahead and call junkyards......anyone know where or how to do this swap?

 

So you want to convert to a manual trans. with your KA and then pull it all for an SR down the road? If I was you I'd wait until you have an SR and then do it all at once, save alot of time and headache. Actually if I was you I would convert to manual and turbo the KA, but what do I know.

 

There is a manuel transmission for the KA you know.
