Default Has anyone done this

I'm buying a 89-91 Si hatch (when i find the right one) for SCCA solo2 racing. I need to have the engine bored up to .020 over. How much should I pay for this? I figure that this should bring back some Hp on an engine that has 150000-180000 miles.

Again the question is how much should this cost? And who can do this.

If you've got over 150k on the engine, you're planning on doing more than just an overbore, right???

I am not boosting it so I really have to wait and get the new 2004 scca rulebook to see exactly what is legal

pointless to do all that, best thing u can do is get a ls motor with gsr tranny and lsd and do a upgraded p&p head. mass torqu off the line and thru out the gears. if youve never done auto-x or anything like that then start asking people before u bore out a motor. what kind of motor are you doing it to and have u done ur research on the engine.

just my .02 cents

you have to use the engine that came/or would have come in the car from the factory. No swaps in the STS class, or any class in SCCA Solo racing other than Street Modified.

Thanx for the help I figured I would call Abicus, but I havent found the car yet and was looking to see if anyone had done it and could get theie oppinion.

There is a shop in hampton that will likely be cheaper then Abacus. I hear they do good work from one of my track friends who has also used abacus. Its called Dunkum's 244-8401. The resurfaced my JUN flywheel (others said it was not possible). Broke there machine taking out one of the studs but still got it done.
