Need help with B16a2 obd1 p30 with s4c tranny into a 97 civic coupe
I have a 97 civic coupe all stock 5 speed and I have a 90ef hatch with b16 swap.. I would like to know if there is anything I can compensate with and fab from hatch to the ek? Would any of the mounts fit? Axles? Waiting harness and ecu considering mine is obd2?? Any help and opinions is greatly appreciated
Thanks, dj

well first off u need a obd2a to obd1 ECU and dizzy jumper harness
u need all ek b-series mounts...the ef ones will NOT will not work
u will need a hydro transmission(and clutch) because the on in ef is cable unless u want to convert from hydro to cable trannys
u need a EM1 shift linkage
EM1 axles
and if ur ek is a dx/lx then u will have to wire up vtec
there are a few more things ur gonnda need but here is majority of it...btw it a very easy swap..there are millions of write ups on a b series swap into a ek..GOOGLE IS UR FRIEND

Yes google has been my friend but there are so many different opinionss.. I wouldn't mind converting to cable.. But if it's easier for hydro I must do that.. I've also read that this s4c tranny is pretty rare.. It's lsd for sure sure but I have no clue what it is.. From my understanding the b16a2 are from 99-00 si and came with hydro tranny correct? Preciate the help

yes they came with hydraulic transmissions. The s4c that you have is in fact from a b16b civic type r and is quite rare. Its a very stout trans, comes with a stronger limited slip and apparently dual synchros for 2,3, and 4th gears.

lol what?
The s4c name covers a bunch of transmissions, not just ctr. I have 3 in my garage right now that came out of 2000 si coupes (em1) and does not have lsd. Here, http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/temp/Bgears.htm , this should help.
Have you pulled an axle to be sure its lsd? If its attached to and em1 motor and says s4c, more than likely its an em1 transmission.
OP, here is some solid info for you http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/6gtech.html
