MKIII Supra
What motor do you want.... You can go to the turbo motor 7m-GTE..
Import the JDM engine 1jz... or the MKIV 2jz
7m is the easiest.... pretty much just swap everything over to the turbo versions.
1jz will bolt into any MKIII made after 5/89 as before that the front X-member is differant. Requires a couple odd things and some wiring harness mods to make it work. Easier if you buy a JDM front clip with a 1jz and swap it over. but still needs some modifications.
2jz requires above... Plus you have to go single turbo... or modify the firewall for the stock twins.

Hey Supra owners. I'm looking to buy a MKIII turbo to replace my Camaro. Maybe you guys can answer some quick questions without me having to go to another board.
1)How much should I pay for one in good condition, around 90-110k miles.
2)Can you upgrade them easily and still pass emissions, this is the main reason I want to get rid of the Camaro. LTs and Cams are illegal in VA unless you get a pussy cam and shorty headers, which see no gains.
3)Being an old Toyota engine, I imagine it is very reliable. Let's say I buy a new turbo (bigger, not stock) and get the new upgraded headgasket. I turn the psi up high, will there be any problems?
4)Can they be fast for cheap like other turbo cars?

Better to ask with on a couple of the forums listed above...
Price wise expect to pay anywhere from 2k-5k for a car in decent condition
depending on year and options
They are pretty good with emmisions AFAIK.. I don't have emmisions in my area.
But others with a high flow cat and good tune haven't had problems. Even seen one guy with a stand alone pass emmisions without a cat.
The motors are pretty strong.. Weakpoint is well known.... the headgasket.. Make sure the block is flat and smooth along with the head, install a metal headgasket or cosmetic with arp bolts and you are good to go.. couple people have done ~500 on stock bottem ends and last for years with a good tune...
Fast for cheap.... Sure they can be mid/low 12's on a stock upgraded turbo. for probably ~2500 invested.. (I didn't go this route so thats a guess)
you want a drag car.. Go big single... With the new kits in development to mount up a TH400
