Default Massive engine problems. please help

ok so i was drivin the other night and i started to hear this clicking noise but it was only at like 1/4 throttle. then it started to smoke real bad and i clutched it and it died. i pulled it into somewhere and i checked the oil and it had drained it all. so i put in 3 more quarts and they didnt leak out. now when it starts up i have a weird kind of smoke comin out of the head like its burnin oil. i pulled the valve cover and i looked and made sure all the vavles were depressing. it doesnt sound like a rod knock but im not all that sure. im takin the head off in the next couple of days to learn more but any suggestions would be helpful. thanks a lot.

Check your radiator coolant level, I'm willing to bet there's alot of brown gunk in there.

Rings, Valve seals, head gasket, crack in block/head.
Those are some primary suspects. Especially with it burning oil in the exhaust....

i was thinkin head gasket maybe too, but it didnt overheat and that doesnt really explain the clicking noise though.
