take the distributor cap and rotor off and clean them, inspect your pickup coil, and internals of your distributor, also check your crank/cam sensors

i have a zc motor...ironically i had a timing prob. if ur timing is good take off ur timing belt cover and look @ the cam gears, each has an arrow, turn ur crank pully with a breaker bar or a big ass ratchet until they are both pointin directly up if on of them looks like its ahead or behind the other then it has prob. skipped a tooth...and the sec. of belt between the two gears should be pretty damn tight...when they are both lined up it should look perfectly straight...if thats too much of a bitch take it too "custon car care" they should do it for $100 if its off

Do you have any kind of book to reference??

There should be marks on the Crank pulley to help you find TDC and hopefully there are reference marks on the cam gears as well. It definitely sounds like your cam timing is hosed.

yeah more impateint i was thinking the same thing........
.....OK HERE IS HOW YOU DO THIS TIMMING SHIT.......
ok look very closely... you take off distributer cap, try to start the car, stop trying to start the car, where ever the rotor button points is the # one cylinder, remember where that spot is.... put the cap back on... where ever that spot was is the # one cylinder .... put the # one wire the and from there go # 4 cylinder
clock wise put the # 4 wire there.... then the next spot would be for the # 3 cylinder so put the # 3 wire on that spot on the cap....
and last but not least put the last wire on the only spot which would be the # 2 wire and # two spot...... youyr timing is 1-4-3-2
if it is spitting back at you you have it back words... oh and by the way the the # on cylinder is the one closest to the timming belt

ok htf would trying to start the car then stop the car put the rotor button on number one cylinder? it never stops there u cant just change ur spark plug wires according to the rotor button. U got to time 2 things which are the head and the bottom of the motor, u cant just time one right and expect it to run. The way hondaz is talking about seems like his timing belt slip teeth so his cams or something are not timed right, so basically he has to take the timing belt off make the bottom half of the motor tdc just like i said, then turn both his cam gears untill the arrows point straight up doing that well turn the rotor button to the correct #1 spot, then just slip the timing belt back on
