honda trans question
by no means am i experienced with honda... so i have a question...
a friend of mine took his trans out of his 89 civic 1.5 becuase 5th gear locked up..
well he got another trans from somebody, it looks the same, and its a cable clutch just like his old one, but the spline is like bigger or somthing, we counted the teeth, but the clutch just wont fit? wtf

Are you sure his 5th gear locked up, or does he have the standard 4 speed tranny? Does the civic have all vinyl seats? If so it is more than likely just a 4 speed tranny.

there is 2 different clutch and flywheels for 88-91 civics one has a bigger spline there is a old and newer style trans call you local honda dealer and get the right clutch for the trans hope this helps
