I wired everything up and its just cranking, almost wants to start. I also smell lots of fuel. I checked under the car and the starter is hot as shit. I here something hit under the tranny everytime i try to start it like a big clunk. I got a battery at 525cca is that enough? please help

You're probably hearing the starter engage. You're smelling fuel because none of it is getting burnt. Check your ignitor wiring and everything having to do with the ignition system, and that the ECU is wired correctly. You can usually crank a car forever if the ECU is not wired right. I actually cranked my sol for a few seconds the other day before I realized I forgot to plug the ECU back in after modding it.. Also check the ECU fuse, etc..
It's all kind of generic advice but it holds true for any engine swap.
Also make sure all your grounds are connected..

I did not check the timing belt, what should i look for?

The motor is cranking its so close to getting started, damn it

 

no timing belt its a chain. the timing could be off. you might be running too rich and flooding the motor out. or you might have the wrong ecu a friend of mine got the wrong ecu with his swap.

 

How do i check if i have the wrong ECU

 

Also you do i set the timing on the motor, Could it be anything else

 

the only way i know how to check the ecu is to borrow one that works. you might want to check the fourms on zilvia.net you might find more help there.
