Default A few JRSC ?'s

ok so i new to the whole idea of a supercharger but i think ive found 1 that i might possibly get. i just wanna know all of the things that im gonna need to get if i actually go through with it. i have a stock d16y7 w/ like 144,000 and i dont wanna build it or anything. i wanna keep it boosted around 4-6 lbs. and stay conservative. so what am i going to need to consider before i buy 1 of these. how long do they last usually? it will be on my dd so i want it to be as reliable as possible. is it the wrong way to go? should i just stay stock?
alright so any help is appriciated because like i said im a noob at this.

With such a low boost level, you'll be fine on stock components. You will have accelerated wear over stock, because you'll have a higher power output, so any problems that you currently have (piston ring sealing, etc) will get worse faster. If the engine is in good, well maintained condition though, there should be no problem with that low level of boost. The supercharger will last a long time at that boost level too, the faster they are turned (higher RPM at higher boost levels and higher heat) the shorter their lifespan.
You'll have to talk to someone who actually runs one at that low boost level, most people go for the higher RPM pulley setup for higher boost. Your conservativeness is rare..

yeah man deffinately rock the JRSC. I have and 00' ek that runs 6 psi and have had no problems at all. The only cost is the money, I actually gained 2 mpg along with nearly 50 whp. My car isn't dyno tuned, I just run the FMU that is included in the kit. I would recommend a nice header and exhaust to compensate for the increased flow on the intake side of your motor. And one last thing, don't stay stock!

i wouldnt do it. its a constant strain on the motor, since when you get boost happy its constant boost. i always had problems with the d16 trannys since they are weak.
