excess oil consumption
Over the summer I did a minor head overhaul on my mitsubishi including: headgasket replacement, head milling (slight warpage), replacement turbo, and valve stem seal replacement. Now the engine consumes (leaks) about a half a quart of oil every 100 - 200 miles. I see that there is oil around the head and the block where the new headgasket is. What is the problem? Are the head bolts not torqued right? We torqued them to the specs. Is there a proper way to torque the head bolts in addition to following the torque order? Should I do a comression/leak down test? Any info will be useful.

Re: excess oil consumption
Get some APR, you can torque them tighter and not have to worry about the head lifting at high RPMs since there a stronger grade. That's most likely the problem. Use the torque spec they give you. I believe for my car it was around 60ft lbs on stock studs and with ARP I could go up to 80 - 85lbs.
Also you should re-torque the studs after a couple of heat cycles.
