Which tranny are you using for the longitudinal setup, and how is that working with the firewall clearance?

I've always wanted to stuff a ZF transaxle in the trunk of something, Corvette style, but not in anything remotely close to an EVO or other sedan.

the longitudal one. is running the evo motor, with a modified buschar 1g 4g63 adapter plate mated to a magnesium gm bellhousing and a jerico 4speed transmission.

clearance on the fire wall side was minimul yes we had to cut and modify some of it. mainly in the center where we made the tunnel.

we utilized the factory cross member which was heavily modified the rack itsself sits about 3inches lower and is pushed back about 1/2" and solid mounted. we made custom tie rods with heim joint ends. and also modified the knuckle for alot more angle. (heim joints allowed us to make the rack/tie rods sit flat again)

if ya want i can give a run down on every inch of the car. also if you want pics i have alot.

matter of fact i think its time for a build thread.

Rys Millen Racing (Yes, Rys Millen the famed WRC driver turned drifter) put out a RWD kit for the EVO.

Last I checked it was simpily a plug kit for the front CV joints.
