Default EVO RWD conversion

I'm a faithful 240 owner and love to drift, unfortunately I also like that EVO, I've heard some rumors about RWD evo's. What is the process of this?

install rear, trans, shaft, and turn motor sideways, and realize you just ruined a perfectly good car.

If you're actually serious... there's a lot of work that has to be done to make everything fit. 4G63 is designed to be put in a car sideways and therefore the transmission side of the motor is not designed to accomadate a firewall being that close to it. There's a lot of tricks you gotta pull to make it all work.

Log off of the forum and end your life in the slowest painful way possible.

Before doing so, please start a thread posting the same questions on all evo forums.....that way someone will remember you when you pass on.

1. Remove 4g63
2. Add LS1

1) Buy STi.
2) Buy bellhousing adapter.
3) Buy custom driveshaft or custom joints.
4) Install RWD transmission.
5) Forget about EVO with weird transverse engine layout.

OR

Buy IS300. Looks like EVO, already RWD. Leave EVO for people who appreciate the brilliant AWD system.

buschur racing sells RWD kits for 1G dsm to give you an idea

i don't see the point, it is a waste of a perfectly good AWD but it has been done quite a few times.

sounds like somebody watched F&F tokyo a little to much though.

I like this idea...

But seriously, I think a couple companies make kits to do it. I believe it has to do with taking some parts out of the center diff, and then welding what's left together.

There are center diff spools available too, but that's a lot of power going through a drivetrain that was meant to have a front/rear torque split.
