I have a 95 Ford contour that I drive as a daily. Recently it has had this problem where it blows the 2 rubber hoses that run from the down pipe (i think??) to the egr valve off and it blows exhaust all into the engine bay. I was wondering if there was a way to take the egr valve off and clean it to maybe make it work again or if it was simply done. I can't afford a new one at the moment. Something else i was wondering is if i simply quit using the egr and block off the lines, would it mess anything up?
