Default DSM oil filter help.

I just got done putting a RoadRace engineering big16g on my 99 gsx, I bought the install kit also but i noticed that the o2 sensor housing is almost touching the oil filter and it doesn't look like I'd be able to change the oil without pulling the whole o2 housing off which I don't want to do. Is there a shorter oil filter i can buy or any other fix for this?

there are different size filters that will work. Try an Evo filter, it's much smaller than a DSM filter. There is one part number that is really short also but I can't think off the top of my head which one it is, I want to say it's a 3000GT one though? I use the Evo filters on mine, i'm pretty sure that should fit most setups. off the top of my head I think it's 7317 or something like that.

edit: looked in my notes for you.

MD352626 97 3000 GT Turbo

should be like the big filter but much shorter in length. Is this what you're going for?

dave's right, those cars (the 3000's) call for a 1334 wix filter, which is about 2.5" in OD, 2.5" long. its about 1.5" shorter than the 1356 that it calls for.

you could try to use a 1381, but its probly going to be too fat in diameter to fit correctly.

Thanks, I ended up checking all the filters at autozone and found out that the STP filter is about half of the size of the rest so I went with that
