D-series Head HELP

Default D-series Head HELP

okay i have a 7y block i have a stock y8 head only the head, should i just buy this head?

or should i use the stock one? Will my motor be able to handle the head off of ebay?

youll need the head, head gasket, timing belt ( not sure if y7 and y8 is the same) search on honda tech theres a couples of write ups on it.

Your bottom end will be fine with that head. The head is not going to make that much more power than stock if it is staying NA.

the d16y7 block should be the same as the y8 block. so you'd just be building a y8...

You can def. do it. A buddy of mine put a motor like that together. It wasn't impressive or fast but it ran good. What can i say he was in love with SOHC motors.

same timing belt. I think different pistons. Little higher of compression.

The Y7 block is not the same as the Y8 Block.

But yeah im gonna use the Stock Y8 head i have, i need a vtec solenoid though, y8 intake manifold, y8 dizzy, and i need to get it wired for vtec. But im not sure if it is even worth it.
Like power worth it?
