Default cv boot kit?

i had my car up on the lift today trying to put on a tie bar that didnt fit and i walked up to the front of my car and noticed that my boot for the front left had a crack in it and it looked like it had sprayed grease all over. i then went to the honda dealership to see how much a replacement boot would cost and he sayed i would have to get some internal boot too. anybody know what he is talking about? all i need to do i think is take off the wheel etc... and unclamp the boot and install the new one. damn i dont have good luck my civ.

well the thing is about rebooting axle is that for you to get to the outer boot you have to remove the inner boot at the same time. Can't remove outer boot by itself.

Napa has the best deals for axel exchange, hell we got a set for a swap at like I think $110 after the we turned in the old ones. even if you did have to swap the boots, wow, what a pain in the ass. grease everywhere, trying to line up the pins inside...been there, done that... thank you so much k4ff1n3 for that experience

well i went to autozone and got that ghetto split boot kit for temporary use until i figure out if i want to replace the whole axle or whatever. the thing is, once we were done putting the boot on, i took it for a drive and now about every revolution of the wheel, i hear a click. i dont know if we didnt pack the grease in good enough and maybe with a little driving the grease will move around in there and hopefully it will be good. i just dont know what to do at this point. i dont really want to replace the whole axle if its still good.

This post makes absolutely no sense. Why would he need to replace his struts also? Maybe you know something I don't.

if some grease came out and it clicks you need to replace the axle.
