Default cr-vtec??????

on http://www.osakajdmmotors.com/honda/index.html there is a crv engine for $700. I wanna build a cr-vtec engine, but problems with my brother and his ls-vtec engine are causing doubts. He bought an ls engine, then later a vtec head and put them together. Problem was he always needed other parts and the cost came out really really high. It was fully built, but still too expensive. How much am i looking to spend on making this crv into a cr-vtec with a gsr head and tranny...including assembly, shop fees and shipping of parts and stuff? its gonna be all motor also...

Done right with little mods to the bottom end, roughly 1500 including getting the head and the extras. Now I am guessing, I dont even remember the cost for my setup.

I'm just really curious about the whole CR/vtec thing. So you want a VTCE head that's designed to make usable power at high RPM and you want to put it on a bottom end that can't take the high RPMs is that correct?

Thats true, but I am talking the things that I say are a must to do, not just slapping the head on. But a basic conversion around 700..
