I'm not saying its heavy in general. Just when compared to the rest (5, 8 and 10 pound hoods) they are heavier.

What does the small difference in weight matter anyway? I'd rather have a hood that won't shatter on me than one that is the lightest out there.. Don't confuse weight with quality or performance...
I make carbon hoods (no, don't ask me) and I'd rather have a little more weight than something that will blow apart if it gets hit by a small pebble at highway speeds.. Most carbon hoods on the market are mostly fiberglass anyways, so they are far weaker for their weight than pure carbon anyway. Fiberglass is a much better material for street cars though, it's much tougher and yields much smoother, unlike carbon which will explode when overloaded.

um eng i wouldnt believe that 15lb shit about an Invader hood

Unless i have a huge hood (which I do... dunno if its bigger than a 240 though), my hoods only about 5-10lb lighter than stock..

dougs OEM prelude hood (5g prelude though) weighs like 10lbs.. mines ilke 3-4 of his.

although my hood is bigger.. i believe the frame and extra fiberglass for the vents skeleton adds ALOT

mines vis.
