Default car wont stay runnning (OBD1 B16)

Ok i finaly figured out why my car wouldnt start. Now it starts but it wont stay on unless i hold the TB open to 1k-1500 RPMs after 1500 RPMs it bogs down and cuts off. i am beginning to think that it could be either the tps or maybe even the main relay not so sure on the relay. Maybe it is the idle air control valve. I really think this is mostly a fuel probleom fuel pressire is close to 40 psi when idling(sp) dont know if it is to low or not. I am also flashing code 22 which is vtec pressure valve dont think that would have any affect on it starting. This is in a 91 CRX SI. Any help will be appreciated.

38 psi is stock fuel pressure so 40 psi is fine.

I can tell you right now it isn't the IAC valve, and if anyone has one, I need it, please.

i had a simalar problem with my 89 crx si but not as serious. i would start my car and it would bog down and shut off. i found out that it was the relay and i aslo found out from the saem guy that told me it was the relay that it is pretty common in 2nd gen crx's. so checking the relay if you haven't already would be one thing i would check.

I agree that it could be an alternator. My brother's Rx-7 GSL had that exact problem... we got him a new alternator and boom, he was good. But get your alternator bench tested at like Advanced Auto ot Autozone first... if it's pushing nothing then that's your problem.

Also... check any vacuum hoses... I've seen cars cut off due to split or loose/disconnected vacuum hoses and shit like that. And it could be a fuel problem, who knows... I don't like to deal with fuel problems, they can be a bitch.

ok i found one probleom i forgot to connect the IAC but i am still having trouble getting it started w/o having to open the TB thinking tps still. My car is smoking really bad it has had a fresh rebuild to the bottom end before i swapped it. I know that it has to be broken in but i wasnt expecting ot to smoke this bad. but maybe i have a broken injector or something like that.
