i went to start my swap and it tried to turn over and made a real loud pop sound...im guessing it was a piston trying to fire. i was told to just keep trying to start it but it keeps making the same pop sound and it wont start. and its not throwing a code either. so if anyone has any idea as to why its not starting that would be great. thanks

probably dont have the spark plug wires in the right order.....that happened to me too

check ignition first...make sure it is sparking...pull out the plugs and make sure they are firing...then make sure you didn't put the distributor on backwards...if this is ok..check fuel...check each injector to see if it fires....put a screwdriver to the injector, have somebody start it and put your ear to the screwdriver...if you hear a clicking then your injectors are good...if this is okay...check your compression...good luck...

If the distributor is on backwards then he should be throwing the crank postitioning sensor code. (that is if the ecu is hooked up correctly)

what kind of car was the swap put into? Check the wiring of the plugs and plugs themselves. Then timing and the wiring you had to do for the swap itself.

thanks everyone, i got it started! the spark plug wires were in the wrong order..but now it wont go into gear...any gear. so i have to pull the trans and make sure the forks are lined up right.
but it is throwing a code, 5 so does anyone know what that is?
