BOV sounds weird?
I don't know the details on that particular bov but most will start to make a studder sound in time. They need regular disassembly, cleaning (with a de-greaser), and lubrication (I use white lithium grease.
but only 5 psi? yeah I would think you would need a very lightweight spring in that to work properly.

Ive been screwing with mine (Type S) for awhile...it doesnt open and leak at idle, it doesnt leak at low boost, but itll open when shifting at low low boost. So low my boost guage isnt even reading it. @ hi boost, itll leak if not adjusted right. But the again, i have a BOV sound coming from my intake when i shift. TWO sounds...BOV and intake.
yeah i've got one coming...the type-s is annoying as hell but the way i have my stock BOV set up right now, it leaks a lot worse than a type-s (my stock bov doesn't stay shut at all, it creates a HUGE vaccuum leak if vented to atmosphere, so i used a swing valve (brass from home depot) on the end of it to keep it shut, but because the swing valve isn't air tight im losing some boost through there) either way, the type-s should be good for me since im not going to be making more than 10psi max anyway
Most cars will have a bit of compressor surge at low boost. It's not that big of a deal. It's high boost that you want to try to eliminate that if you're trying to preserve your turbo.
