My father got pulled over a couple nights ago for his exhaust, which he got done years ago through big al's. My dad wasn't speeding or do anything wrong and he then saw that a cop was pulling him over. When the cop came over dad said what was i doing wrong sir i wasn't speeding. The cop said i know you weren't speed i am pulling you over for your exhaust. The cop also said that he let a speed person by to pull over my father. The cop gave my dad a noise pollution ticket. And my dad isn't too happy because he haves his state inspection license. He just got it about a mounth or 2 ago and dad kinows that his exhaust passes in the state of virginia but according to the officer he didn't care about that. The cop kept saying stuff about how city this and city that. Why don't we have a city inspection then instead of a state inspection. Cause i thought state always goes over city. And then while the cop was looking around my dad's car(like trying to find other stuff to get my father on) he decide to pull on my dad's flares. My dad really got upset about that cuz my dad told me that if the cop pulled his flare off he would have been really upset.
My dad haves never ever been bothered about his exhaust since he have had it( and it haves been like for 7 yrs or so).
Wht really made me kinda think this cop was just being a real big ass was that the part when he said he let a speeder go by. I mean my father wasn't doing anything wrong but the speeder was. I mean is it just me or is these cops becoming really big assholes to us and pulling us over when we are actually doing nothen wrong.

 

that is definitly an example of a cock sucker cop. i would have your father go to court and make the cop look stupid as shit infront of the judge. ive seen judges tell cops "this is the stupidest ticket ive seen, what were u thinking writing this person a ticket and wasting my time and theres"

i think this is one of those times... make him look dumb

 

Yea my father is going to take this to court. His court date is in Feb. That is what it says on the ticket

He haves an 1981 Volkswagon rabbit. He haves duel exhaust on it. And yes it is an aftermarket/performance exhaust.

 

oh, in that case... hes guilty- 30 dollar ticket and the BRAND NEW 69 dollar court cost. 100 bucks out the DOOR!

 

If it's not stock, they have the legal right to ticket you for it in VA. It's so bad in NoVA, that lots of people here are getting exhausts that look like stock, or painting their mufflers black.

 

the car is a "antique" just tell the judge that he was going to get antique plates. Also tell your father to bring in the state inspection receipt(or whatever)..


For future reference though you should ask an attorney, you're talking to a group of car groupies, VA changes their laws to suit their needs.
