Default bad fuel pump?

I have a 91 integra with a jdm type r swap. the car runs great almost all of the time but every now and then i do have a few problems...

1) When the car sits in the sun all day, especially with the windows left up, the fuel pump doesnt want to kick on. I have to let the car air our and then it usually will. (It did this before the swap too and someone mentioned a bad connection of some kind)

2) Sometimes it will almost bog down while driving, mostly at low rpms. (i read the other thread about a bad fuel pump and someone mentioned it felt like a cable was attatched to it)

3) The idle will kind of hover up and down between 1000 rpms and 2000.

I changed the fuel pump during the swap so i wouldnt think it was that but it seems to me that would make the most sense....? Help me out please!

#1 sounds like a faulty main relay

Numbers 2 and 3 could be both because of a bad "idle air control" valve. It measures the amount of air coming from the intake and adjusts the fuel so it doesnt run too rich or too lean. Have you tried cleaning your throttle plate? That will also cause a rough idle. Last thing would be to check your o2 sensors. That will also cause the fuel to run lean, making the car drag. Just a couple ideas.

how could i go about checking the main relay?

a 4 wire o2 sensor came with the Rywire conversion harness... should i also run the stock ls o2 seensor?

do you think the ICV off of the stock ls engine would work?
