just get a gsr engine and sleeve it and bore it to 84mm,84.5mm or even 85mm's, it will get the job done

i looked at getting a b20 and most of the people on hondatech said its a really bad motor to boost on because the cylinder walls are so damn thin. the b18c1 is what i was going to go with

if you are going to sleeve, go with the gsr. It will still make more power than the b20 with more reliability, and have a higher rev limit.

If you are going to sleeve the engine then get the cheapest block you can find. You already plan to use a Vtec head on either so what ever you can find for the least amount of money.

if you are going to sleeve it get the b20...you won't be able to rev as high but you will make a hell of a lot more torque than a gsr

I agree with everyone so far... aslong as you sleeve the b20 then your good but the sleeves on a stock b20 suck... as previously said they are thin... but its good also because its the cheapest.... But if your a balla then go with a dart block and you can buy those straight up as a 2.2
