Question Anyone done a fuel pump on an Acura 3.5L J motor ?

Trying to find any information on whats involved and for once the Google is rather quiet. This is for a 2001 Acura MDX - hoping to not have to drop the tank. Anyone done one of these ?

IIRC the pump is in the tank, never done one on a MDX but typically Honda has an access panel above the tank you can get to from inside the car.

Yeah, what he said, normally below the back seats under the carpet. Should be 4 bolts to remove the access plate then 4 more bolts to remove the pump.

Usually under the reaer seat or just behind it.. That could be a chore in a MDX.. Depending on if the third row seating is over it. Might require some removeing seats/carpet to get to the access panel Ive done it in civics and tegs.. Never a MDX.. GL

Why pull out carpet and seats? That's to much of a hassle. It's easier to take the two tank straps loose and drop the tank.

Take a look at this link: http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

By looking at part 40 you will be able to get to the pump from the top with out pulling the tank. I assume from the picture that the access panel is on the Pass. rear near the spare tire or another panel in the back. Also you can get under the car to try to gauge the location of the panel.

Hope this helps.
