Default '98 Malibu Brake Problems

So the ABS and Brake light on 98 Malibu have come on, I'm actually doing a little research as I type this. Aside from checking the wheel sensors to make sure they're connected and not visibly damaged any suggestions on what to do? I don't really feel like shelling out the money to a shop to tell me they can't do anything or I'll have to replace X hub for $400 + shop fees. Anywho, I'll be checking back here off and on, any help is appreciated.

i wouldn't think it would be a abs wheel sensors due to the fact that both the abs and brake lights are on.... if it is related it would be elsewhere in the system where the abs system and the brake system actually are tied together.... because wheel sensors only detect a reading from the abs rings on cv axles or hubs depending if its front or rear.... i would check relays and fuses, check brake fluid level, check parking brake switch.... basically check everything to make sure that they are tied into the same problem and not 2 seperate problems.... pm me if you find anything out.... and it doesn't take much damage at all to any of the abs rings to cause a bad reading

Checked the fuses and brake fluid and they are all good. Now I'm off to play with the relays to see if they / that may be the problem.
