Default 95 Civic fuel pump problem

95 Civic. D15.

First off, car wont run, obviously.

I can get it to start, and run, off carb cleaner, but dies when the spray stops.
I loosened the banjo bolt on the fuel pump itself and turned the key to the "on" position, like I'm priming it and it comes out of the hole, however, I'm not getting fuel TO the fuel filter. I'm thinking weak fuel pump; it's pumping hard enough to come out of the gas tank, but not to make it through the line.
Also, when I can get it started, it'll run for about 5-10 seconds at idle, then die. And if I try to rev it up, it bogs.
Thanks for any help.

So you know there's a problem in the pump, yet you haven't replaced it yet?

Well, the car has had a few problems, so I've been working out the kinks, and didn't think about the fuel pump until just now since all the signs are pointing towards it. Based off the information above, do you think my diagnosis is pretty accurate?

Its either one of two things:

-a bad pump (most likely)
-a clogged fuel filter

Well, I disconnected the filter and fuel isn't even making it to it. So, my only ideas are operable, but weak, fuel pump... or clogged line. Which the latter is unlikely. I'm pretty positive it's just a weak fuel pump.

Check the voltage at the pump while the pump should be running, for example while it should be priming. If the voltage looks fine, yank the pump and see if there is anything visibly wrong external to the pump (bad connections, corrosion, etc). If not, replace the pump.

I just went ahead and replaced the pump/strainer, and the fuel filter. It was all, I'm sure, original and needed to be replaced anyway.

Yep. The fuel pump was just old, and the fuel filter was clogged. Replaced everything, and now it runs (and idles) just perfectly.
