Default How to obtain a new title?

Hey there. Sorry I dont have much time to search now. I was wondering if anybody has any good info on what needs to be done to obtain a new title. I might be purchasing a 84 kawi with no title but im not sure if its worth the trouble since there is no title. Thanks for any input.

you can also go the thru the "abandoned vehicle" part of DMV, but it's a pain in the ass. Doesn't cost much though.

I've never understood how these title services work.

I always figured that if the original title is gone and the original owner disappears that it's just impossible to ever title the car again unless you go the "abandoned" route.
