been doing some research while a work(bored as all hell) but found that no where in the va law code does it state that you can or can not put any neon or led lighting on to a vehicle..feel free to look deeper into but only thing i can come up with is that is up the the cop you pass to say its legal or illegal..go figure thats mostly how VA works..damn common wealth. http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...10000000000000
if anyone is interested in trying to start a patition to get LEDs in some way legal as for being seen let me know and i'll start pulling cases where bikers were either hit or even killed (RIP)because of someone(cagers, grandma, etc.) had stated they didnt see them..i personally think bikes should be allowed LED lighing to "accent" the visablilty of us..to a certain lumans so still as not to distract other drivers..that would be the hardest part in getting something like that passed..

they're illegal, but SOME cops let it go because sure enough does help drivers to notice riders on two wheels. i'd rather have that light that flashes high beams or whatever you call them because it reminds me of law enforcement when their siren lights are on and you can see them no matter what. if someone could, what is the name of the lights that flash inside your headlight lens on the bike?

there called Mudulating head lights..heres the VA law code on that:

Motorcycles may be equipped with means of modulating the high beam of their headlights between high and low beam at a rate of 200 to 280 flashes per minute. Such headlights shall not be so modulated during periods when headlights would ordinarily be required to be lighted under § 46.2-1030.
