Default Dinging Noise

I have a 96 Ford Ranger and everytime I shut the Driver side door the dingin noise keeps on goin off (like my door is still open). Any info on to what maybe wrong with it?

hondub is an unknown quantity at this point

The switch on Fords looks like a round button I think. It's around your door jamb somewhere that makes logical sense (like where the door could press it when shut) You could always just disconnect it but of course the dinger wont work as its supposed to. Just saves you from the noise.
