240 Timing Chain

how do you tighten the chain if its hitting the valve cover?
or does it even hit the cover? anyone know anybody taht can fix it?

remove the valve cover, remove the L bracket above the timing chain, replace valve cover. Mine had completely snapped off of one of my 240's. If that doesnt do it just replace the damn thing.

Ill do the L bracket for a couple bucks, but i dont mess with the timing chain...pain in the ass.

If its a SR it would be the timing chain tensioner.

I have a good timing tensioner for 30.00 shipped. The tensioner was not my problem it was the timing chain that streched out.
