I'd go with the 350z. So much more potential out of a 3.5L than a 2.5L. Don't get me wrong, STIs are great cars, I'd love to DD one, but I just prefer a bigger motor to build power from.

Out of the two I'd say STi. I'm not a 350Z fan at all. I think they're overweight, ugly, and they feel cheap. They have a great motor and they handle good on a race day, but they're just not as fun to drive as I thought they'd be. It made me think of a more refined Mustang. There wasn't really anything wrong with it, it just felt a little detached and wasn't as fun to drive as I expected.

A lot of the same stuff could be said about STIs though I guess. Driving both back to back though, the STi was definantly the more fun of the two. I was absolutely blown away by how entertaining the STi was to drive and how well it communicated with the driver. I was honestly blown away by it. I really wanted one....

...until I drove an Evo. Do yourself a favor. If you're in the market for an STi, go drive an Evo.

(disclaimer) I'm not in any way biased to an Evo. I don't own one. In fact, I just bought an S2000. Honestly, the Evo was 99% as fun to drive as an S2000, with a back seat, and more power. If I could afford it, I'd have an Evo and an S2000.

he does have a point i worked on these things all the time as far as installing in dash navi units and what not
they feel like a prototype car or something
the dash is really flimsy for lack of a better term

I have found a few 04 STI's but am kind of weary on buying that year for lack of a radio and I guess they used a different differential? Also, concerned with early model 350z's and oil consumption. Anyway any clarification on that would be great too.
Thanks for voting.

Only the 05-06 REV-UP 350Z had oil consumption issues and it was only on certain cars too. The 07 HR no longer has that issue and no 03-05 non-revup engine had that issue. The 05 Anniversary model had the REV-UP, and the 06 standard 6mt cars had it.

But IMHO, the 350z is faster than the STI stock for stock, but the for mods, the STI takes the cake.

LOL. Maybe from a 5k launch you will own a 350z 07+ for a few seconds, but the Z will kill you after that.
