I didn't realize oil consuption was prevalent in other cars like the 350Z and STI... it thought it was an '01 Z06 thing Mine was fixed under warranty so it's a mute point.

350z. own the Z and have driven an STi but besides more power wasnt that impressed, and if power is what you are after there are faster cars for less money then an sti. RWD is just so much more fun to drive. but if you get do get a subby set aside some extra time for the oil leaks...god i hate boxer engines

It was an LSX thing. Not just a Z06 thing.

^ Yes... I know that They all pull oil vapors through the PCV system, LS1s were worse because they vented crank gasses from the valve covers. However, the '01 cars had a special place what w/ their lower tension oil control ring fluttering and letting more oil by. Also, in '01 the revised PCV system (which vented crank gasses from the valley cover) was prone to a seal going bad and letting large amounts of oil get pulled through.

Since I've had the re-ring and the valley seal replaced the car only consums about 1/2 quart between 8000 mile oil change intervals. I also, have a catch can which catches abotu 1/4" every 3000ish.

I would get a G35. If you're going to drop that much cash on a Z why not pony up a some more and get a G35.

I agree with waiting for the z-tuned 350 in 08.....THey made it a high reving v-6 with almost as much power as the sti and the suckers tuned by nismo.....But you got to admit it the STI is sexy and beefy....... But just because the STI has more power doesn't mean anything!!! It weights ALOT MORE then the Z does and all those ford and chevy guys can tell you about how they got spanked by the hondas even though they put down 300hp or so and the honda had only 190bhp. SO it all comes down to what would you want to drive?
