SOA questions for people who truly know and can do it.
Ive got a YJ and want to know what it really takes to do a spring over axle. I know WHAT it is, just dont know what it takes.
Is anyone here capable of doin it? How much would it take? Thanks...

I did it to blue92's yj that he had a little while back. i wouldnt use stock springs, within a couple weeks his stock springs started to buckle and form a S. Buy some springs that are made for the spring over and buy a slip yoke eliminator to help with the driveline angle. The back was easy as hell just weld some new perches on the axle and swap springs. Front was prity much the samething but we changed somethings on the steering.
have you ever been to jeepforums.com? if not, you need to go over there and do some searching. THeres at least one person per week who asks that same question. don't take any advice from any of us here on vadriven. trust the experts over there!
haha wow thanks. ive been building rock crawling trucks longer then i have been on vadriven. But ya just do some research its easy. Just need a welder and common sense. Most of these guys on vadriven are only limited to car stuff apparently.
sorry bud, I wasnt talking about you specifically, just VAdriven in general.
a good friend of did his about a year ago and decided to go with waggy springs. if you play around with the pack you can get them to flex like hell. these springs are fairly well known for wrapping though, so invest in a good trac bar.
you can use the springs that are on the yj now, you need new spring perches, some steering stuff ( cause you now have to basicly have a high steer kit to drive) you could go with a sye and a cv style driveshaft or just a cv style driveshaft ( http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html )
shoot me you email address and i will send you a link or two of good , lots of detail of some write ups of people who have done it
