Doing a search online, I can't find any laws on the books concerning altering the intake, EXCEPT for emissions... If you have a breather on the valve cover instead of a properly routed hose, that can be considered illegal....

I alwyas wondered how California is the epicenter of the "import scene" when you can't do anything to your car without getting it turned into a paper weight....

 

It's because it's closer to Japan than we will ever be. Every JDM trend used to hit Cali years before it got to us, now it's just months with the help of the intarweb.

 

That makes sense. I remember when the scene started out here and some people I know would get tickets for their intakes. Or atleasts that what they would say.

 

so how does the whole search procedure work? How do you know if they have probably cause or not

 

im thinking that the probably cause was him being a dick to the cop and that his car was modified

 

Was the cop a state trooper or local? Also If the county the person was in has emissions, then thats why he was given a ticket for it if he lives in that county...only state police and county/city cops where emissions are present can give you a ticket. I had my g/f check it out, she works for Stafford Sheriffs office and she said thats what the Capt. told her.

Being a dick to the officer was probably the entire cause for it also!
