Default Top Tier Gas.

From toptiergas.com....

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is a recently established new standard for gasoline performance. Four of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, and Toyota recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

Since the minimum additive performance standards were first established by EPA in 1995, most gasoline marketers have actually reduced the concentration level of detergent additive in their gasoline by up to 50%. As a result, the ability of a vehicle to maintain stringent Tier 2 emission standards have been hampered, leading to engine deposits which can have a big impact on in-use emissions and driver satisfaction.

These automakers have raised the bar. TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline help drivers avoid lower quality gasoline which can leave deposits on critical engine parts, which reduces engine performance. That’s something both drivers and automakers want to avoid.

what about it? GM had a lot to do in creating the standard and all of their cars have come with the recommendation to use TT in the manual for a number of years now.

One thing is that the providers have to pay to be recognized.

Haha, I thought it was kind of funny to see Jiffy Mart on that list.

You do know most gas stations get there gas from the all the same places right the only thing thats diffrent is the additive that they put in .Even the small no name stations get there gas from the same place shell moble and the rest of the big names . I work for a station and we get our gas for the most part at the same place shell picks up from (at least thats what the driver says ) and my boss was good friends with one of the ppl we order from and he said the same thing . So for all the ppl that pay to put shell or Exonn in there car you can save a little money and just find the right station to and get the same for less.

I believe that, but... most of the no name places don't get as much business so their tanks collect more water versus a name brand gas that gets a lot of business refills their tanks more so less water is built up.

I don't go by the name brand of the gasoline, but judge on the individual station itself.
Also I do not use a station with the selectable single pumps when I need premium fuel. I go to a station that has a pump for each grade of fuel. I have read the selectable pumps can give you as much as 5 gallons of whatever fuel was previously selected.

I used to fill up my daily at WaWa on Rt1 and Neabsco because they did alot of business. Although I found out their fuel is of poor quality because I get 4 more miles to the gallon filling up at the Sunoco at Dale Blvd and Minniville. I filled up with 87 at both stations and went back and forth a few times just to be sure. I consistently got better mileage filling up at Sunoco.
