pulled over in nova
i was at the annandale nova campus, and some campus cop pulled me over bcuz my license plate was on the dashboard. problem is i dont have a license, long long story ..about the license. so i told him i wasnt licensed in va, and that i was driving my gf buz she can't drive stick too well (bullshit, but the pig dont know that) but anyway, he comes back and told me to sign the citation for the license plate ticket, then he asked me to step out of the car, cuffs me and says im under arrest for driving without a license and he's arresting me because it was a second offense. i had a ticket for speeding and driving without a license like 4 years ago when i was a minor, doesnt that go away when i turn 18? anyone know? anyway, after he cuffs me he stuck me in the car blah blah went to jail and so on. the thing is, my brother and a few of my friends told me, that the cop fucked up bcuz he never read me my miranda rights (right to remain silent, blah blah) and he didnt have the right to go through my pockets and shit? he just cuffed me put me in the car and i got locked up. i was wondering if anyone else that has been arrested for a traffic stop, and been cuffed and locked up got your rights read to you? i was wondering if this was a way i could fight it? the cop was a nvcc campus cop, and was a major douche bag. he didnt read me my rights, he just went through my pockets and took out my wallet and everything, (nothing illegal found) and on top of that he didnt even give me a copy of the citation for either of the tickets to me, or anyone else in the car ..so i dont even know how i can pay for the damn license plate ticket? help anyone? thanks, i got enough trouble to deal with ..and bullshit from a nova campus cop is not one of them.

I think almost anyone has a right to see that videotape if you are on it...but im not positive. I would try to contact campus police after you speak to a lawyer. Ill try to contact my bro-in-law...he is FFX county and see what he has to say about it. Other than that, when being placed under arrest you HAVE to be read your rights under state law, contact a lawyer in the mean time if you are going to persue the case.

yes i think this is true... ive been arrested for 2 drunk in publics and have NEVER been read my rights... i paid 1 of the tickets cause i was under 21, the second i went to court and talked to the judge about and pled guilty to the charge after explaining my story.. cops are dicks either ways...
I've always thought that if you are being arrested, you HAVE to be read your rights. Also, how does a rent-a-pig have the power to do all that shit? Top Flight security of the world?
I'm sure someone has already told you by now that you are an idiot. If you knew you didn't have a license, why didn't you drive a car that was fully legal on the road? Your fault bro.
