Yeah i agree, I mean my friend rents out the bottom of a townhouse and its very spacious for 1 or 2 people... It's also a real nice layout with kitchen full bath and two bedrooms... Im not real sure how much he pays for rent but it cant be too outstanding.. I'm over there every now and again and i've never once had a problem with anyone...

If you're into like skating or bmxing its a great place, When I do go over there I always bring my bike and hit up some great spots all in real easy to ride distance..

I guess what attracts me is the fact that everything is right around the corner and there allways seems to be something to do...

Any other thoughts?

DC ALWAYS has something to do! What part of DC have you been to?? Yeah, a majority of parts are ghetto, but theres alot of parts in DC that are truely unique. M-S theres always clubs open, bars, restaurants, exhibits, tours, shows, concerts...etc.

True but you know that Bush has a 5k income tax credit if you buy property in DC before Jan 1 2006 :-D Just a thought... I think that income tax will go down as more people move in which was there problem before. Everybody working in DC and nobody living in DC but using DC resources. It will come down as the population goes up

Even with the bush tax credit, dc has some of the highest taxes in country..... and the housing values have skyrocketed over the past few years... the property tax has been pricing people out of the city.... also remember you have NO say in what happens, your vote as a dc resident doesnt count.. and remember most all of your tax money is going downtown, so you'll never really see any benefit for all the money they charge you

there are many nice and recovering areas... its not near as bad as people make it out to be... especially compared to those of us who were there in the 80's...

i'd say buy in va near the metro... you can enjoy all of the dc nightlife, jobs, transportation w/o the taxes and hassle

The Bethesda / Chevy Chase area is a real nice area to live in, but I can't afford those apartments.

I lived on wisconsin ave for 4 years, right below the cathedral.

It was only 900$ for a 1 bedroom. I miss it real bad!!! Went from there to the 757 to fucking florida...which sucks ass if you aren't Bo and Luke Duke Only thing about DC is you really don;tneed a car!

my sisters fiance's family lives in G-town like a ballER. Shyt is nice, and you can go to any college in the US and pay in state tuition because you live in DC. I live about 10 mins away from downtown but rarely go out there, let alone DRIVE....i freaking hate dc driving, just because i have no idea where anything is.

Personally I feel that DC is full of extremes, either you're a rich ass baller, or you're broke ass on welfare. there's no in between, on top of that parking is a bitch and sales tax is 8%. You gotta be outta your mind to try to live there.... unless you got mad $$$.
