in my case when I went in for doing 14 over the officer did not show up (this was at manassas courthouse) so I was pretty happy the judge (mean white lady) said well in that case I will decide the deciding factor I was puzzled I asked to take the class she said I took it less than two years ago so she gave me a 240 dollar fine.

Actually, he's correct. The judge doesn't have to dismiss the charge if the officer does not show. Most will, but they are not required. I ended up spending two hours in court only to find out thd officer never showed and the judge just told me to come back on the officers next court date........and that was only an exhaust ticket.

Should've presented the court with expenses on your next appearance. I remember when I was stationed in Texas the trooper didn't show-up for the court date on a 12 over ticket I got, Jag did up a loss report, and fianancial expense for having me miss duty for a second day due to the courts lack of proper notice to reschedule. The ticket was promptly dropped.

Since it was just an exhaust ticket, I didn't bother but thats a good point to remember for future reference.

i had court in stafford on the 15 of this may and it was for tint....the drive was the only thing that was gay about the part....as soon as you get off 95 its like literally right there the court house....its not wack like the ffx court house with all the fancy shit...

the judge i had was wicked nice too...he let a guy go with speeding instead of wreckless because he claimed his odometer was off by like 20mph with out any proof whatsoever.

14th i had ffx county court....15th i had one in stafford....both for tint tickets...both dismissed since i got it fixed.

not saying they have to dismiss, but if you plead not guilty how can they possibly find you guilty without the cop being there? Two guys ahead of me plead guilty and the judge gave them a fine and told them where to pay, when I pleaded not guilty the judge said I was free to go, and this was in manassas court as well.
