1.) I would try to avoid an open parking lot. The more room people have, the more chance of them doing burnouts and getting into accidents (look at rockville).
2.) The engraved shift knob- great idea
3.) Use the cops for what they get paid for, to enforce peace. Set up a meeting with ffx county police and basically explain to them that you are looking to set up a well behaved meet for kids on friday nights so that they ARENT street racing. Let them know that you would be interested in having a cop around and you will be more than happy to point out the bad seeds and ask them to leave. If you meet with Mac, he can say that a couple of you are his voice of authority to the cop. We pay their salary with our taxes so they should do something FOR us for a change and it will look good for us because we are encouraging safe behavior so they will be less inclined to hit people with exhaust tickets and such.
4.) If this goes well and we can keep it orderly, I would have a couple people call up the tv stations and invite them down. With all the bad media import kids have gotten in the past 3 years, they owe us one to spotlight a responsible meet that is an alternative to street racing.

This is just my .02
I agree with eveything here. Who would you have collect money for an entrance fee. They would just dip out with all that cash. I say you should just get permission for several places and switch up location every month. Let people know where it is a week before via email or a password protected thread for dragva members. Something like that.
think about it.

if you guys need funding for events or security I would try to get sponsors for it. Frederick Nissan is alway showing up with their cars and Im positive its to try to sell cars. You also have VOB Nissan and a couple honda/acura and mazda dealers that are getting into aftermarket sales. Tell them, in exchange for the security and co-funding of say a yearly dragva event you will put their info on any drag va flyer and if they bring their cars they will get the best spots to show off their cars. Dont put the cost on the participants, put it on these guys trying to sell us stuff. Advertising isnt free.

we all should get Mac something but aside from that i think engraving something is a good idea. i don't think charging people is a good idea cause then ppl might not go and who would the money go to? we still got a lot of planning to do and the location of the meet is still unknown

location should be:
1. away from residential areas
2. away from blocking any traffic
3. someplace where no one will mind us being there
4. where stupid people won't go

I doubt he would go for the chip if it requires him to use 93 octane. What type of Jeep does he have?? Getting the o2 sensors is also a good idea.

As for the police coverage....FFX Police would probably only have a cop specially patrol that lot at that time at our request if we "donated" money to the FFX Police. At least that is how special police patrols work up here.
