gettin smaller weekly meets together has never a problem for the people i hang out with, i'm imagining because we all know each other, but when a bunch of people start showing up to meets like this is when people feel the need to show off and/or they just dont care about the direct effect their actions have towards the group.

the most important thing is to remember that if you see someone doing something stupid, do your best to catch up with them and let them know that shit won't fly.

Im not sure if anybody said this before but we could always go see a movie before hand at about 5:30 or something, that way FTC can benefit. Or we could do something else, like go eat at Baja or another place.

good ideas so far..... how bout
#1...keeping it free
#2...NOT having that gay licence place list (as mentiond above plans might change and might not be able to get in)
#3...having ian (for example) or any1 whos alllllways at the meets and talks to mac be like "mac's voice" as far as to who gets kicked out and whatnot
#4...having a cop outside the parking (not going in...unless ian or whoever "mac's voice" is calls the cop and tells him to get such and such and kick him out)

oh and the idea of having flyers with the rules on them might not be a bad idea.... mayb that can be the entrace ticket.... and not like an all out flyer just sum that any1 can print out from a thread on dragva which also states the rules, and things u can do to get kicked out... at least they will have to keep them till u get in the lot that way they can be read ....eghh.. u could also have advertisements on the flyer like from companys that wanna promote stuff ...they give "mac's voice" a payment as low as 10 bucks a month or whatever and from a couple of companies put together u can come up with sum funds for a rent-a-cop who can collect the flyers and be let people in

any1 see a conflict with any of these thoughts??? mayb i missed out on sumthing...or mayb sum1 wants to add anything to this.....

You have to remember this though; the older crowd are, for the most part, much more mature and responsible than the "kids" that show up to the DragVA meets. I think it's safe to assume that 65% or more of the people that attend the DragVA meets are under 18 years of age.

I think the simplest way of policing these meets is to talk to the local police and have them monitor the meets. Also, keep a camera, and if someone does something stupid, make sure to take a picture of it with their license plate in the picture for EVIDENCE, and turn the picture in to the local authorities. They will be taken care of by the police. Then they will never show up to the meets again because they're afraid they will get reported again for the stupid crap they do. Everyone wins in this situation.

again blaming the "kids". obviously u didnt see the older guy(mid 30's maybe) in the skyline peelings out and flying thru the parking lot at the last meet. ill stick to the VW meet every frida, its fun, more chill and laid back, plus people arent all crowded and in such a rush. i drive a mazda tho :-p

The reason I'm blaming the kids is because it's a fact of life; kids are less mature and much more careless than adults. Sure, there will be your oddball adult who is immature and acts like a kid, but it is rare at car meets, especially ones where the majority of the people are under 20 years of age.

I still support the idea of turning people in to the cops that do stupid stuff. They have to learn the hard way.
