i have a 92 accord and i am trying to find a shop around the VA/MD area that can make me a bolt on fiberglass hood for a decent price. anyone know any good shops fiberglass shops ?

 

You'll have to pay for the mold/tooling costs as well as the hood, you're better off getting a carbon or fiberglass hood from a body kit distributor unless you want something special that you can't already buy.

 

I think it would be cheaper to buy one from an autoparts website. why not get a carbon fiber one?

 

you could get a CF or fiberglass one from a bodykit place, and if you dont want the raw c/f look, you can always paint it.

you can make your own fiberglass hood scoop its not hard.

 

i dont want a hood scoop i want the whole hood a light weight oem look w/o the CF look i would paint it but but fiberglass should be cheaper to make. i want to pay for the light weight not the one sheet of CF on the fiberglass

 

It's going to be much cheaper to buy a carbon hood than get a fiberglass one custom made, unless you can find someone with the molds already. I totally understand what you're saying, but the fact is that a fiberglass piece won't be easy to find off the shelf, and will therefore cost more than a mass produced carbon-skinned part.
