Default FS: 1994 Prelude Vtec $2,500

1994 Honda Prelude Vtec, fully loaded
car is in Richmond
234,000 miles chassis
132,000 OEM H22 engine
$2,500 NO TRADES

SOLD SOLD SOLD

I have to downsize to just one car so this unfortunately has to go.

1 previous owner, my uncle, who is responsible for 221,000 of the miles. (mostly highway, this car made several cross country trips.)

I have had the car for nearly 3 years. Only once gave me a problem. (ignition cylinder wore out)

I have all the maintenance records for the car that my uncle kept. He is a real nice guy and replaced the halfshafts and had the valves adjusted just before I bought it.

Some history, around mile 100,000, the car threw a rod on a freezing Utah morning. So the block only has 132,000 miles on it.

Performance mods are few: DC intake, Momo steering wheel.

The Good: Reliable car with complete history. It’s still quick and makes pretty noises. I drove this car when I was 16, almost 9 years ago and it still sounds as good as it did then.

I replaced the entire ignition system (plugs, wires, distributor), trying to fix what ended up being the ignition switch. New alpine deck with 4 new Alpine speakers. Maintained with Mobil 1 and Honda filters. Has had an oil change within 1k miles. The interior with exception of the passenger airbag is near perfect with no tears in the black leather. No rust on the body. Spent mile 1 to mile 200k in a garage. I recently replaced the rear pads and rotors.

The bad: 5th is crunchy. But smooth with a double clutch/match rev. Every other gear in the tranns has been replaced. It’s due for a timing belt, I think. There is a hole in the records that my uncle cannot recall himself whether the belt was replaced. But, to be safe I would do it. It has a slow start, I suspect this is a sluggish fuel pump.

The ugly: Airbags were deployed as you can see in the photo. (this happened before I bought it in a minor fender bender with a jersey wall in a snow storm) An eBay buy or a trip to Higgins air bag covers and you’re good to go.

This car has been a loyal and reliable friend for the past 3 years and I will miss it. I hope someone can give it a good home. More pics on request.
