I think this is an excellent idea. It's fine if only the designated people can start the threads, but I think it's important to have feedback from everyone in the threads. Within reason. As long as stupid posts are quickly deleted people will learn to take the jackassery to the appropriate forum.

 

It's going to take me a bit to upload my pics, but I am definitely interested. Please keep me in mind...heh.

 

In reference to my comment about not being able to post. This is Drag, there are quite a few motor mouths. Maybe we should look into having a few Mods just for the forum, just to keep unwanted "shit" out.

so what happens for people like me who want to submit pictures and take more but cant b/c of the simple fact that im in iraq? can i take pics of 7 tons and hummers to prove my abilities?

 

Or maybe something like having the pictures and comments occupy seperate threads (with the comment thread viewable/postable only to drag members).

That way, if the comments get too out of hand, they won't detract from the original thread.

The focus will be the pictures, not everything afterwards.

 

If they're quality shots, it couldn't hurt to take some and pass it along to the engster.

You might have to ask Eng on the specifics, but I don't see there being any problem.

 

I enjoy looking at the quality pictures from some of the guys on this site. From that perspective, my suggestions for the new forum would be:
1.) The ability to start threads limited to the people chosen to take photos.
2.) The first post in the thread should have some brief info about the photographer, equipment, location and car/owner.
3.) The picture thread should then be locked and a link provded where comments can be posted. That way it is easy to keep track of where the comments go and easier for newbies to bring back old threads. This will also limit the number of thread that need to be moderated.
