Yeah, i lowered on stock shocks. I just like the adjustability factor of coilovers. I want to go lower!

how do you lower a car on stock springs? if you're talking about heating them or cutting them, that has to be the dumbest shit.

I've heard mixed feelings on them ross. and spence, you're wrong. most people these days use sleeve coilovers for looks and what not. if you want performance, get a full damper kit or a full coilover system. but if you just want to be dumped, I don't think they are a bad choice. the NRG coilover sleeves look legit so I say go for it. just don't use them on stock shocks, it will be your biggest regret.

Ross i would get coilovers. The ride height with springs/struts is at a set height, which sucks. In the long run, being able to adjust the height is well worth it, especially if you get different size wheels. So coilovers FTW.

Thats not true. Coilovers are only as good as the shocks used in them. Just about all Japanese shocks have poor rebound dampening (Tein, JIC, Buddy Club, etc). Some people say most JDM coilover systems even use the same shocks. Look at Koni shocks and some type of sleeving coilover system (such as GC). It tkaes some work since you have to take apart and build the shock to make them work for yor car (for most cars. i dunno about Hondas), but its well worth it. They are the best shocks at a reasonable price.

i dont think you understand what shocks do. If you think they are too stiff, get softer springs. Tokikos are on the same level as Teins and JICs and other JDM brands. They can't compare with Konis.

wrong use the stock struts in the rear unless you haul a lot of asses...
use a slighly higher dampening rate in the front due to the engines weight
for example i have the stock civics in the rear brand new of course, not all blown and shit. and i have the brand new 2000 civic si struts in the front, because of the engine's weight and the fact that i need the weight matched for a flawless ride... oh and make for damn sure you use a coil over or lowering spring with the right spring rate because if your spring rate is too high like the ebay deals..... you'll be trying to dampen a lot more spring. if your spring rate is too low you'll be floating over the bumps and we all know the bumps are a bitch around these parts...
wioth that said buy the cheapo coilovers and install them and then choose your struts accordingly.
if anyone needs help with a suspension setup ask around im the one to talk to i can make it happen way cheap cause i know the physics of it all...

if your going to use konis make sure you know how to adjust them. i used to ride those on my car and i was always under the hood and in the trunk getting em right, that was whenever people were in my car...
i had to sell them cause they were for a 93 integra and i needed shorter struts for my ride height...
