I found his post rather informative actually .... hes clarified your claiming to have a certain amount in the car, Litlespic happens to be friends with the guy who built the car .... and knows otherwise.

I applaud his posts, I wish more people would give advance warnings on KNOWN piles of shit ..... instead of letting people buy lemons.

well actually the Guy i bought it from told me this not me. i didnt do any thing to the car except brake pads and a blow off valve. and can you prove to me that my car is a lemon. i doubt you will find many xr4tis that are in this condition with EVERYTHING in the car working Like i said, i am stating what the guy that Built the car told me. Now have a nice day, If you want to come test drive the car and see if its a lemon or not, your welcome. Assumption is whats destroying the world.

 

any ways, if any ones interested, i am in virginia beach and i am a very honest seller, come test drive the car, look at the car, bring a mechanic with you, take it to midas to get it inspected, what ever. but please no joy rides

 

What kind of Blow off valve did you put on the car?

Everything in the car working? You mean the aftermarket gauges, and the switch for the electric fan? And the 'RARE' Cruise control? Merkurs are all over this place in better condition than this one. Stop spouting off your mouth about stuff. I can post links to 2 merkurs with in driving distance with better track records and most people would find more "rare" than this. Larry built that car to his taste and his standards, the rarity in that car is all aftermarket and put in by the man who put the work into it. Merkurs are rare cars but not like you are putting out there to be.

No one is assuming its a lemon, I know that car is in good condition, but you are miss leading people HUGELY in your first post. They are unreliable cars from the factory, thats a fact. Your's is no unique bucket of bolts, its still a merkur, from the 2.3 sohc motor, threw the t-9 5 speed tranny that no one has ever seem to found out the ratings for, to the 7.5" rear end that is unique to this car and the european ford xr4i's.

If you dont like me in here telling people this stuff your post should have limited to the facts you knew were true, and not claiming the car to be all this when obviously its not.

Why dont you post some pictures of the engine bay so I can give you a price chart of everything done to the motor. The tacky gauges, the huge wing, the white wheels, the red seats, and the Tazmanian Devil floor mat's do not add value to this car, but thats my opinion, the opinion of an EX-Potential buyer since you have no idea what you are trying to sell.

i think it would look nicer with rear window louvers and a rear wing delete...nice car sto...its like a smaller svo.

I have owned 12 turbofords, 4 of which being merkur's. None of them are 'bad'. All turbofords are un-reliable. Its a mid 80's turbo engine using 70's technology. Its 2008, nothing against you or turbofords, they are just un-reliable. Just like I told everyone that was interesting in buying my car, its a carb'd 1974 car. It runs but I dont know for how long.

What good would it do to tell Larry? He doesnt own the car, and he is not a potential buyer. What does help is for you to understand what you are selling and for the potential buyer to understand what he is buying.
