I havent had 1 guy look at the car yet, but i really dont know how it can be a pos, the car runs like a champ lol.

I am not trying to sell it so "badly", actually i make execuses just to drive the thing, Its not my tatse, i like small cars, only reason i bought this car is because you dont see many of them around and i like to be different and its turbo. i just like driving around in smaller cars.

Honest usually means you keep your stories straight when trying to sell a car. Even if the stories are lies since you know nothing about the car, atleast keep them straight.

Did you get your SDS tuned? And did you check your PCV Valve and make sure it wasnt clogged or worn out, or even if it was still plugged in?

Did you check you check and see if the 'spout' was still plugged in to make sure you were running the proper timing at all times?

There are so many reasons that the gas mileage could be that low and you have yet to discuss if you fixed the problem or anything.

Whats the RR Cam set at? Are you running it retarded or advanced?

Do you have green tops in the car, or are they the stock brown tops? And whats the fuel pressure set at? Even when I had my base fuel pressure set to 55psi I still got over 20mpg around town.

 

I fixed it some what. its getting about 16mpg city and 24 high way now but all i did was set closed loop to off in the SDS. Thats the only thing i did in the SDS, its running good so why mess with it. i am sure you can tune it to get more mpg out of it.

 

2.3l turbo is quicker than a 5.0 stang...stock to stock that is...the 5.0 has more potential on the motor tho...

I believe this was the only merkur on craiglist. if he thinks its a pos, thats him. if it was a pos and i am a mechanic and i know what a pos is, i would have never bought it and drive it everywhere daily
