Those guys are awesome. They even had a reverse thread heim joint in stock I needed to fab up custom shift linkage on my old 'zuk.

Fastenal carries similar inventory too, and there are a few local locations.

I work for Fastenal. my suggestion (if its as bad as i'm reading) would be to drill it out and re-thread it. We carry all kinds of metric stainless set screws in our distribution centers for delivery in 1-2 days depending on stock. Are you sure that it isn't a socket head or button head cap screw? Also we have metric taps in stock. Take it to a local store (if you ever get it out) and take it in for someone to look at it. We don't usually sell 1 or 2, but just shoot me a PM and ill call the closest one to you and tell them to hook you up. Another thought for removing it would be a left hand drill bit and a screw extractor.

You know you have to drill a nice, deep, straight hole in the bolt you're trying to remove before you drive the extractor in, right? Those extractors work really well, but you need to drill a deep enough hole for them to bite.

yea i work at lowes and those things get returned all the time. anything thats for automotive or motorcycles, they dont work at all, its just in there too tight. they are mostly for screws in wood and other light duty things.

you may have to drill the screw out or if its possible, cut a slit in the top and use a flat head to get it out.

If there's enough of the bolt sticking out to get a set of pliers on I'd get a set of vice grips and give them a try. Make sure you hose the bolt down with penetrating oil or WD-40 to hopefully loosen it up a bit.

Cobalt drill bits, e-z out set, more ass behind that drill and an extra order of elbow grease and patience should do the job.
