Whats up guys i was wondering if putting a bigger tire on a bike is bad for the bike iv heard different things. Like going from a 160 to a 180 with the same rim.... how bad is it? sorry for the newbie ? thanks for all your help.

it depends on the width of the rim. if it's got a 160 stock, it's probably a 4.5" rim, and a 180, if you can get it to bead properly, is gonna handle like CRAP, and it's not actually going to be any wider, it'll just square off the tire instead of being a rounded profile like it should be. there are 170's out there that are designed for 4.5" rims.
what kind of bike is it? you may just be able to put a wider rim on it, if you really want a wider tire.

i know this is erelavent to the ? but its about tires. what do you do if you get a nail in your tire on a bike? my tire is pretty new too i dont wanna replace it again is there anything i can do besides that?

plug it if it's a rear, you'll never go fast enough on the street to spit a plug. never plug a front though.

Had 2 plugs in my tires and i went 150+ and i've had a tire go flat at 100 or so. Aslong as your not in a curve i dont think you will bust ur ass...just my opinon i would plug always
