tires
Whats up guys i was wondering if putting a bigger tire on a bike is bad for the bike iv heard different things. Like going from a 160 to a 180 with the same rim.... how bad is it? sorry for the newbie ? thanks for all your help.

Re: tires
it depends on the width of the rim. if it's got a 160 stock, it's probably a 4.5" rim, and a 180, if you can get it to bead properly, is gonna handle like CRAP, and it's not actually going to be any wider, it'll just square off the tire instead of being a rounded profile like it should be. there are 170's out there that are designed for 4.5" rims.
what kind of bike is it? you may just be able to put a wider rim on it, if you really want a wider tire. |
Re: tires

Re: tires
rf 600 is a 4.5" wheel, so yeah, no more than a 170, tops.
